All your email, in one place.
The receipts your website sends, the newsletters your audience opens, and the replies they send back — designed, delivered, and understood together, instead of juggling a sending service, a separate newsletter tool, and a personal inbox. If you can write an email, you can run rootmail.
Free for 3,000 sends & 500 contacts a month · set up in minutes · building a product? developers.rootmail.io
Made for people. Loved by developers.
Whatever you sell, publish, or build, it's the same email platform underneath. And when your team has developers, they plug into the very same product from their own tools — one place either way.
Brands & shops
A clothing brand
Announce the new drop to your customers, and let your website send order confirmations on its own. Design everything visually; see who opened and who bought.
Publishers & creators
A news desk
Send the morning newsletter to subscribers, welcome new sign-ups automatically, and read replies in one inbox. No IT department required.
People building products
A developer, agency, or SaaS
Stop hand-rolling email inside every backend. Integrate once; templates, flows and domains stay editable in the dashboard — by you or the client you built it for.
The developer pitchEveryone else
If you email people, it fits
A gym, a school, a two-person consultancy. If your work involves reaching people by email — transactional, marketing, or both — this is the whole toolkit.
Send. Converse. Prove.
Start with a single welcome email. Grow into conversations with your audience, and records you can stand behind — without ever moving to another tool.
Send
Your everyday email, from your own address: the receipts and resets your website sends by itself, and the campaigns and newsletters you send on purpose.
- Receipts, resets & alerts — automatic
- Campaigns & newsletters — on your schedule
- From your own name and web address
- People who opted out are never emailed
Converse
Email isn't one-way. Replies come back into a shared inbox your team can actually answer — and automated series politely stop when someone writes back.
- One inbox for every reply
- Answer in-app, together
- Welcome series stop on reply
- Nothing lands in a no-reply void
Prove
For the day a customer disputes, a regulator asks, or a partner audits: a sealed, verifiable record of exactly what you sent, to whom, and when.
- Sealed records anyone can verify
- The full story of every message
- One-click export
- Your data, exportable or erasable
Everything your email needs to just work
Use what you need today; the rest is there the day you want it. No plugins, no add-on tools, no “talk to IT”.
Every kind of email
Order confirmations, password resets, newsletters, launch announcements — write them once, send them when you want, from your own address.
Never sent twice
Hiccups happen — a page reloads, a system retries. Your customer still gets exactly one copy. Always.
Send for your clients
Agencies and platforms can send from each client's own name and web address, with every client's sending reputation kept separate.
Land in the inbox
A live 0–100 reputation score from your real results, and we prepare the technical records your domain needs — you just paste them in once.
See what gets read
Sent, delivered, opened, clicked — for everything you send, and for each campaign or welcome series on its own.
Welcomes on autopilot
Greet every new subscriber with a series that sends itself over days — and stops the moment someone writes back.
Replies come back to you
Answers land in one shared inbox your whole team can see — not a no-reply void.
Prove what you sent
When it matters — a dispute, an audit — export a sealed, verifiable record of exactly what went out and when.
A full paper trail
Every step of every email is recorded and can never be quietly edited. Look any message up, any time.
Consent, handled
Unsubscribes, bounces, and complaints are respected automatically before every send — you can't accidentally email someone who opted out.
Switch without losing anything
Bring your contacts and your do-not-email list straight over from Mailchimp-style exports — your history and reputation come with you.
An assistant that does the busywork
Ask in plain English — “set up a welcome series”, “why did this bounce?” — and it builds, fixes, and reports back.
Send for every client — from their own name
Run email for the businesses you serve. Each client sends from their own web address, with their own sending reputation — one client's mistake never touches another's delivery. Set up in the dashboard; no technical back-and-forth beyond pasting a few settings.
- 1Add your client's web address in the dashboard.
- 2We prepare a short list of settings — copy them to your client (or their domain provider).
- 3rootmail checks them automatically and marks the client verified.
- 4Send as your client, from their name — their reputation and history stay their own.
Two products. Each priced by what it actually uses.
Transactional email is priced by send volume. Marketing email is priced by audience size. Each is fully usable on its own — be free on one side and scale the other.
Transactional
Receipts, resets, alerts — priced by send volume alone.
3,000 sends every month, free — no card.
Then buy blocks of 25,000 sends. Rates drop as you grow; past your blocks it's just $0.4/1,000 — sending never stops.

Marketing
Campaigns, sequences & replies — priced by audience size.
Free up to 500 contacts — no card.
Your audience size sets the price; the plan turns it into monthly volume, a daily cap, and how many audiences you can run.

Add-ons — priced per one, no plan required
Take one whether or not you’re on a paid plan. Pick them at checkout (one bill) or buy them on their own — and buying more never re-bills what you already have.
Team seat
One more teammate who can sign in and work in rootmail.
$8/mo per seat
Workspace
One more workspace — a separate space per product or brand, each with its own sending, templates, and audiences.
$10/mo per workspace
Dedicated IP
A sending IP address only you send from, so your reputation is entirely your own (most senders share a warm pool — this isolates yours).
$30/mo per dedicated IP
Client sending domain
Send on behalf of a client from their own verified domain, with their reputation kept separate from yours and everyone else's (for agencies and platforms).
$2/mo per client domain
Contact pack
Room for 500 more contacts in your audiences without changing your plan — headroom when a signup wave hits. Raising your plan's contact size costs less per contact; this is the quick overflow valve.
$16/mo per pack of 500 contacts
Audience pack
Room for 5 more audiences (lists) without changing your plan — for when you want another segment, campaign list, or brand and you're at your plan's limit. Moving up a plan raises your audience allowance for less per audience; this is the quick add-a-few valve.
$12/mo per pack of 5 audiences
AI credits
100 more AI assistant actions per month — drafting, building, and diagnosing across both wings.
$5/mo per 100 credits/mo
Custom team roles
Define your own roles from the full permission set — decide exactly who can send, edit content, or touch billing.
$15/mo per custom roles
SAML SSO + SCIM
Sign in through Okta, Microsoft Entra, or Google Workspace; new teammates are provisioned on first login and leavers lose access automatically.
$40/mo per SSO + SCIM
Proof & compliance exports
Cryptographically signed, tamper-evident records of exactly what you sent, exportable over any date range.
$25/mo per proof exports
One bill. Never billed twice. Yearly = 2 months free.
Add-ons picked with a plan appear inside the same checkout. Changing plans carries everything you own over and credits your unused time automatically. Go past your transactional volume and sending never stops — overage is billed per 1,000, and the free tiers simply pause at their cap.

Questions, answered
Is rootmail for non-technical people?
Completely. It's a full visual product: design templates in a drag-and-drop studio, build contact lists, send campaigns, automate welcome series, read replies in a shared inbox, and watch opens and clicks — all by pointing and clicking. An AI assistant can even draft a template or build a sequence for you. (If your team includes developers, they get the exact same product over an API at developers.rootmail.io — same data, either front door.)
How do I send to my contacts or a mailing list?
Import your contacts (or paste them in), group them into a list, and send a campaign to the whole list from the dashboard — or set up a sequence that emails people automatically over days. Already on another provider? You can bring your contacts and your unsubscribe/suppression list straight over from a SendGrid, Postmark, or Mailgun export, so you keep your history and don't email anyone who opted out.
How does rootmail keep my email out of spam?
Deliverability is treated as part of the product, not an afterthought. We authenticate your mail with DKIM, SPF, and DMARC, automatically stop sending to addresses that bounced or marked you as spam, and give you a 0–100 reputation score from your real sending outcomes with specific fixes when something looks off. You also get the exact DNS records to publish for the strongest possible setup.
Do I need my own domain, and is the DNS setup hard?
You can start sending right away while you get set up. To send from your own address (you@yourcompany.com), you add a few DNS records we generate for you — copy, paste into your domain provider, and we verify them for you. The dashboard walks you through it and tells you the moment everything checks out.
Is my data safe?
Yes. Mail is encrypted in transit, credentials are stored only in protected form, and optional two-factor sign-in, login lockout, and per-person permissions protect your account. Your data is strictly isolated to your organization — no other customer can ever see it. You can export everything or delete your account at any time, and we publish our privacy policy, security practices, and a DPA.
What does it cost?
Each product is priced by what it actually uses. Transactional: 3,000 sends a month free, then blocks of 25,000 sends with rates that drop as you grow — and overage never stops your sending. Marketing: free up to 500 contacts, then your audience size sets the price and the plan turns it into monthly volume and daily capacity. Extras (seats, workspaces, SSO, AI credits, dedicated IPs) are add-ons priced per one — buy them with a plan in one bill, or on their own with no plan at all. Yearly is 2 months free; sandbox (test) sends are always free.
My team has developers — can they plug into this?
Yes, fully. Everything you do in the dashboard, a developer can do in code — same product, same data. The whole technical story (and the docs) lives at developers.rootmail.io, so your developers get their own front door while you never have to touch code.
Can I get notified of deliveries, opens, and replies?
Yes — point a webhook endpoint at your app and rootmail sends signed, idempotent events for the full lifecycle (delivered, opened, clicked, bounced, complained) plus inbound replies, with a per-endpoint delivery log you can inspect and replay.
Can I send email on behalf of my clients?
Yes — that's what client domains are for. Each client sends from their own name and web address, with their sending reputation, contacts, and history kept separate from everyone else's. Agencies run all their clients from one account; most other senders never need this, but it's there the day you do.
How is this different from Resend or Mailchimp?
Those are separate products for separate jobs — transactional email, marketing campaigns, and sales outreach each live in their own silo. rootmail is one data model that does all three, so you never re-platform as your needs change. Per-customer sub-tenancy and cryptographically signed proof of exactly what you sent simply don't exist in those tools.
